Henry joins the Team

It was a rainy day today...perfect for shopping... and I got sucked into buying yet another engine for Jet... and Henry was the lucky one to be chosen... he also chose Henry when mum took him shopping, must be his favourite!

Here is one very happy boy holding Henry.

It was still raining when Jet woke up so he had some fun on our mini trampoline, pretending to fall down.

And some bubble blowing and catching... hasn't quite got the hang of blowing bubbles yet (is sucessful some of the time), but he's got the catching part down pat!

A Bike, A Cat and a Boy

Yes, have been extremely slack, this is actually about 2 weekends ago, at the Berkely Vale Resort (Ant & Marnie's).

Jet has his first cuddle with a cat, the Easson's very new kitty Violet Crumble.

And then his first go on a real bike, but unfortunately, only Mackenzie's pink bike was the right size for him... he's going to hate me for taking pictures but hey...what else are mothers for? He even wanted the helmet and everything... might be time to get the boy a bike...

And here is Jet rocking it to Hi-5, thanks to Marnie for the mo-hawk - he loves it!

So all in all, I think it's safe to say he had a ball.

A day at Grandma's

It is a long drive from our place to my mum's... and to amuse himself during the drive, Jet ponders the gravity of the news... of Thomas the Tank Engine Catalogue!!! Such grave matters to mull over, like which engine to ask mummy to buy next?

After dinner, we have our usual treat when I go over there for dinner: ice-creams all around! Usually Jet and I share which is fine by me, but daddy was there too so unfortunately, I don't think Matt got much of his magnum much to his dismay...

A Visit and a Haircut

One of my friends from my local mother's group visisted us today... we were supposed to meet at the park but it looked like rain so I invited them over instead. Jet struggled to share his Thomas toys... anyone can play with anything they want, but the Thomas things are a struggle! It didn't help that poor sweet Max was not very aggressive either, lol! But I think they had fun anyway, Max had to be dragged away. :)

Then we went to the Mall and popped into for a quick haircut for Jet, and the nice lady even spiked up his hair, which he absolutely loves! I have to keep the gel hidden, as if he sees it, I have to spike up his hair.

Wiggles Time

One of Jet's obsessions: the Wiggles. He has memorized the Live Concert video and copies everything they do - even the act between the songs! Here is Jet copying Dorothy the dinosaur who has done the splits and can't get up on her own. He always comes and gets me to pull him up just like the Wiggles who help Dorothy up.

A Healthy Start

Jet just loves his daily yakult in the morning... he is having quite a few tantrums throughout the day over this as he wants it every time he sees the fridge and you're only supposed to have it once a day.

Jet found his daddy's retro 60's sunnies in our bedroom this morning... eat your heart out, John Lennon.

Jet's First Dog Walk

There is a dog leash free area right behind the beach from North Curl Curl down to South Curl Curl that Jet loves going to... we took our friend's dog Ernie for a walk there this morning and Jet had a go at holding the leash for the first time...

Not sure who is walking whom lol.

The Music Appreciation Night

We came up with the idea for a Music Appreciation Night about 6 years ago when Matt bought his new stereo. Everyone brings their favourite song (or two) and we sit and listen to them all and rate each song on various categories. Each person puts up $5 per song and there are prizes for first, second and last. The attendants, songs and categories have all changed over the years but one thing has remained the same: we have a ball every time!

Last night the categories were: Melody, Lyrics, Composition and Uniqueness.

The Final Scores at the end:

Winner - Taylor by Jack Johnson with 78.75 points
2nd - Stuck In The Middle by Steelers Wheel with 78.5 points
3rd - Pump It by Black Eyed Peas with 78.25 points
4th - James Bond Theme by John Barry with 76.66666667 points
5th - My Hump by Black Eyed Peas with 72.75 points
6th - Cosmic Girl by Jamiroquai with 68 points
7th - Crazy Little thing Called Love by Queen with 66.5 points
8th - Take On Me by AHA with 65.75 points
9th - If I Feel Better by Thomas Felman with 65.5 points
10th - I Wanna Be a Little Fishy by John the Fisherman with 63.25 points
11th - I Love My Country by Dalida with 58.75 points
12th - Alone by Live with 58.5 points
13th - Happy Face by Harry Connick Jnr with 57.5 points
14th - Paid My Due by Anastasia with 56.5 points
Last - You are Not Alone by Michael Jackson with 55.5 points

The Winner songs' owners were: 1st - Matt, 2nd - Laurence. And I got last :(... And, no I didn't pick that song on purpose to get last prize, and in my defense, I was actually thinking of the Techno version of that song, I didn't have time to listen and pick a song! (see our Luna Park adventures for why). And honest, it wasnt rigged, we feel very bad for taking out first prize!

Jet's first Lunar Park Visit

My sister Colette came over so we went on a bit of an adventure this morning. We took the train from Artarmon to Milson's Point and walked to Lunar Park (with great difficulty, as we had to drag Jet away from the train station!).

It was a beautiful sunny day, we went on the ferris wheel and the carousel, but Coney Island was the big hit with Jet, he loved the slippery slides, and just wanted to keep going and going and going...he really tired us adults out - I think we were out-slided!

He even went on a ride by himself - on the mini rollercoaster for kids!

And this is Jet on the way back on the train - there was a lady behind us sleeping, with her arm up just like Jet is doing in the picture... just as well he can't say "Wake Up!" yet, or he might've done a "Jeff" on her!

An Uneventful Day

Well if I'm to take this addiction seriously, I'll have to keep my camera in my bag permanently! I'll be mistaken for a Japanese tourist for sure... (not that there's anything wrong with that, lol...).

Jet is obsessed with mandarins and oranges! As you can see, nothing can make him happier than a good (or even mediocre) mandarin... he prefers them even to junk food! Now if I can just get him to spit out the seeds by himself...

Campbell's 5th Birthday Party - another Train Fest!

We spent the last weekend up at our very good friends Ant & Marnie's, at Central Coast... their son Campbell turned 5 on the 6th of August.

The day started with all the kids jumping in our bed as per usual... we stayed the night at Ant & Marnie's living room...

To celebrate this auspicious occasion, we were due for some train rides in Narara... Here is the birthday boy on one of the trains...

A rare photo of the three of us!

An even rarer photo of just me and Jet!

Needless to say, Jet had a ball (and Matt of course, not sure who had more fun again), we'll be doing it again for sure!

The Zig Zag Railway

We went down to Megalong Valley for Matt's Birthday weekend with some of our friends... but our first stop was the Zig Zag railway...

Unfortunately the steam train wasn't running that day, but as you can see we got a great view which wouldn't have been possible in a steamie, and as we were the only passengers (along with our friends Ant, Marnie, Campbell and Mackenzie) we got to sit up with the driver too and got a very personal tour.

Not sure who had more fun, the children or Matt...
Can you tell where Jet gets his train addiction from???

We even got to meet the Hogwarts Express!

Just adding this picture 'cause he looks so darn cute!

Actually this is from the 21st of July, but I just went to work today so nothing exciting to report!
