Jet's first week at daycare

It was Jet's first week at daycare this week... he is only going 2 days a week, 8am -4pm but why does it feel like such a big deal?

I was originally excited for him to start, but as the start date approached, I couldn't help but feel a little bit sad. He is growing up so fast - someone put a brick on his head!

He coped quite well mostly, had a few wobblies but the carers looked after him so well, he is really bonding with all the carers well so that is a relief.

Yesterday when I went to pick him up, he was happy and excited to see me, but today when he saw me, his whole face just dropped as if to say "Oh, I didn't think you were coming back" and he fell into my arms... almost burst into tears...me, not Jet... *how embarrassing* (but I know my mother friends will understand this).

Love is in the Stairs

We had a playdate at Yvette's house with Lyn and Lynny. The children had a ball of course, as usual.

Molly and Jet... sitting on the stairs... K-I-S-S-I-N-G...

Eurofest 2006

Eurofest was on last weekend, so we went to check it out for the first time. We met up with one of Jet's playgroup friends, Alina and her family, and the children had lots of fun coming down the big slippery dip and riding on the mini ferris wheel.

Speaking of wheels, Jet had fun with this pin-wheel thingy (what is it called? does it have a name?), he was trying to make them turn by blowing on them!

There was lots of yummy food, dancing and stalls selling all kinds of things, but the food was definitely the highlight! Just luuuurve those German sausages! Sorry, no picture, we were too quick in eating them! I only just managed to take a picture of the Dutch pancakes (with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and strawberries) before we devoured them all.

Toot Toot again!

Saturday was a very busy day - we headed out to West Ryde in the afternoon for some mini steam train rides. Met my mum, my sister and nephew too - it was a lovely sunny day, and the boys - Matt, Andrew, Jet - were "training" non-stop!

Only stopped to have an ice-cream, of course.

Scooter Boy

Jet got his first scooter the other day, so we took it out for its first spin on Saturday morning... it was a beautiful day, and he had a ball!

Had a few tumbles, but thanks to all the padding, he was okay! ;)

Welcome Lynny & Nerida

Today my mother's group (okay, one of 3 that I belong to) all met (except Angela & Melissa - we missed you!) at Lyn's place to welcome Nerida who was visiting from Victoria and Lynny - a new Sydney mum, an Aussie from Switzerland.

A rare photo of all the mums:

The children having lunch (minus Cohen), from left, going clock-wise:

Siobhan, Sophie, Jack, Molly, Declan, Jet, Emily.

Can't believe Jet is catching up to Emily in height already...

Thanks for having us, Lyn & Dave, and thanks for sharing all your toys Molly!

Don't Let Go!

Here is Jet clutching onto his Thomas the tank engine puzzle for dear life... yes, he is asleep...

It is a 20 piece puzzle - he can't do it on his own yet but manages quite well with my help.

Jet the Speed Racer

It was a very rainy blistery weekend, and it's been like that all week, so we decided to give Jet a chance to run around, and head to one of Jet's favourite places - Coney Island at Luna Park!

Also tried out the Dodgem cars for the first time, and he loved it!!! I personally never got the whole dodgem car fascination...I mean, what's so fun about crashing into each other??? Definitely a macho male thing, me thinks! ;)

And afterwards, a well earned babycino to end the outing on a sweet note...

Welcome to the World, Jasper!

We went to meet 3 week old Jasper at Yvette's house a few days ago. Kris and Lyn came too, with Eliza and Molly & Max. Jasper was asleep the whole time, but I managed to snap one of the new cutie just before I left when he woke up for a feed, which is why he is crying.

Kris & Eliza...

Lyn & Max...

Jet watches over Eliza...

Jet & Molly will be touring near you... coming soon...

Molly & Jet had fun climbing up and down the famous staircase where Jasper was born...

New chick on the block

Jet & I met Siobhan and Lynny, our new "neighbours" for the first time the other day - we went down to the lagoon to feed the ducks, but the children did most of the eating!

They bonded over popcorn...

And Jet made the moves on Siobhan... what a fast mover!

Ok, ok, Jasper is coming, I just had to do it all it chronological order ;)

Pabby's 40th at Copa - the Night Party

When the sun went down, the real partying began...

Yes, it's a Wig Party!

Marnie the Lavagirl and Ant aka Rod Stewart

Juliette and Mackenzie wanted to join the party too...

Even Jet had a very brief stint at being a Rocker...

I guess somebody had to do it at some point... and of course that somebody was Ant!

The Whole Gang: Andrew, Anita, John, Jamie, Matt, Paul, Sally, Ant, Marnie, Laura, Chris.

Pabby's 40th at Copa

We spent the weekend up at a beautiful waterfront house in Copacabana to celebrate Pabby's 40th birthday. The weather was gorgeous, giving us a preview of Summer and I think it's quite safe to say that fun was had by all.

Surfing, of course was hot on the list of things to do...

and so was soaking up the sun at the beach...

Jet learns the moves from Coach Ant...

and uses them to crash tackle daddy...

While Juliette and Mackenzie finds a horse named Chris in the backyard...

Being a horse is hard work! Even horses needs a break... (and a beer)

And of course tree climbing is compulsory in a childhood... at least for Campbell, Juliette & Chloe.

Even though being the youngest, Jet was determined not to be outdone...

What a great weekend, thanks for having us Paul & Sally!

Pabby's 40th Birthday Present

This is a close up of the present for Paul a.k.a Pabs, Pabby, Pablo, Pabua, written by Matt, Ant, Rob, Chris, Andrew and John and created by Marnie & I.

Bit hard to read the poems in the photos, so here they are:

That smart handsome youth furiously driving a Renault
Between parties and bands - that was our Stevo!
Now his family is here
And old mates give a cheer
‘Cause its time to give 40 candles a blow.
-Chris-

Young Pablo left us for Hong Kong
He took his wife and children along
He misses the beach
His mates at Longreach
Now he's back for a beer and a song
-John-

In local circles Pabs was known as VSM
If he wasn't wetting his whistle he was dipping his pen
He was part of 'The Chair'
finds it hard to grow facial hair
We were always in awe of The GIMP's great wisdom
-Ant-

Our dear Pabbie’s officially old
And the tales of his young days all told
He was always a tart…
Now just an old fart…
Yet the gun in his pocket’s still bold.
-Andrew-

Young Master Pabs….he was naughty,
His girls were quite fast….and cars sporty,
Well the ladies still whistle
And long for his missil’,
But now he says “No” cause he’s forty.
-Robert-

He's been called Pabs, VSM and Stevo
An intellect, an awkwardly handsome fellow
With his mischievous endeavours
He kept us thinking he was clever
He's now a family man, whose life is more mellow
-Matt-
